Goldendale – Washington

Project Details


The Goldendale Project, which is being jointly developed by National Grid and Rye Development, will have an installed capacity of 1,200 MW in generating mode and will be located approximately 20 miles south of Goldendale, Washington. The project will be well situated to serve as a regional water battery resource that dynamically transfers electricity throughout the Pacific Northwest.

This project will have the capability of up to 20 hours; 25,506 MWh of proven, cost-effective energy storage.

This project is expected to create 3,164 jobs with a commercial operation date (COD) of 2028.

Economic Benefit

Investment in this project will provide hundreds of local jobs through construction, operation and maintenance.
The lifetime of this project is expected to exceed 80 years, contributing to the local economy for several generations.
