The Swan Lake Project, which is being jointly developed by National Grid and Rye Development, will have an installed capacity of 393.3 MW in generating mode and will be located approximately 11 miles northwest of Klamath Falls, Oregon. The project will be well situated to serve as a regional water battery resource that dynamically transfers electricity throughout the Pacific Northwest.
This project will have the capability of up to 9 hours; 3,556 MWh of proven, cost-effective energy storage.
This project is expected to create 3,360 jobs with a commercial operation date (COD) of 2025.
Investment in this project will provide hundreds of local jobs through construction, operation and maintenance.
The lifetime of this project is expected to exceed 80 years, contributing to the local economy for several generations.
